Recall Information Record: Helly Hansen Adult Workwear Sweatshirts and Hoodies

1. Recall Summary
On March 2, 2023, Helly Hansen (U.S.) Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of approximately 13,900 adult workwear sweatshirts and hoodies in the United States. An additional 128,680 units were sold in Canada. The recall was initiated because the garments fail to meet federal flammability standards for clothing textiles, posing a burn hazard to consumers. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The products were manufactured in Sri Lanka and Turkey.

2. Affected Products
This recall involves 12 styles of Helly Hansen adult workwear sweatshirts and hoodies. The garments are 100% cotton or 95% cotton and 5% elastane, available in sizes ranging from small to 4XL, and sold in gray, navy, and black. The garments are identified by the following markings: “HH workwear” is printed on the neck label; “Helly Hansen” is printed on a label located on the front right-hand side at the bottom of the garment; the inside seam label displays the size, fiber content, and washing instructions; and the style number is printed on a tag underneath the inside seam label.

The recalled garments were sold at Helly Hansen clothing stores and uniform clothing suppliers nationwide and online at www.hhworkwear.com from August 2019 through August 2022, with prices ranging from $40 to $115.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled clothing fails to meet the federal flammability standards for clothing textiles. This violation presents a risk of burn injuries to consumers. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled garments. To receive a remedy, consumers must contact Helly Hansen and submit a photograph of the garment cut in half. The photograph must be emailed to highpri.support.na@hellyhansen.com. Upon receipt and verification of the photograph, Helly Hansen will provide a full refund or a credit towards the purchase of a free replacement item.

5. Official Remedy
Helly Hansen is offering consumers two remedy options: a full refund or a credit towards the purchase of a free replacement item. To initiate the remedy, consumers must follow the instructions provided in the Consumer Action Required section above. The remedy is contingent upon submission of a photograph showing the recalled garment cut in half.
