Recall Summary
On May 15, 2025, KTM AG, of Austria, issued a recall for certain GASGAS and Husqvarna off-road motorcycles. The recall number is 25283. Approximately 19,310 units are affected in the United States, with an additional 3,870 units in Canada. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Affected Products
This recall involves model years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 off-road motorcycles manufactured by GASGAS and Husqvarna. The GASGAS motorcycles are red with a white GASGAS logo on both sides of the shrouds. The Husqvarna motorcycles are white, blue, and yellow with the Husqvarna logo on both sides of the shrouds.
The vehicle identification number (VIN) is located on the right side of the steering head. Recalled motorcycles are identified by the 10th character of the VIN as follows:
– 2022 model year: letter N in the 10th position
– 2023 model year: letter P in the 10th position
– 2024 model year: letter R in the 10th position
– 2025 model year: letter S in the 10th position
Model numbers and model names are located on the rear fender or rear side panel. The motorcycles were sold at GASGAS and Husqvarna authorized dealers nationwide from January 2022 through August 2024 for between $10,000 and $13,000.
Hazard Information
The front brake caliper can crack, reducing the braking system’s effectiveness, posing a crash hazard. As of the recall publication date, no injuries have been reported.
