1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Nimbus Lock Carabiners manufactured by C.A.M.P. USA Inc., of Golden, Colorado. The carabiners were manufactured in China. The recall was initiated due to a defect in the automatic closing mechanism. The firm has received 21 reports of the closing mechanism breaking. No injuries have been reported. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on August 28, 2025, and updated on August 29, 2025. Approximately 12,600 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 2,100 units were sold in Canada.
2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Nimbus Lock Carabiners sold in the following color combinations: Gun Metal/Green, Gun Metal/Fuchsia, and Gun Metal/Blue. The carabiners were sold individually or as part of the following kits: the Nimbus Lock 3 Pack, the Locker Draw KS, the Energy CR3 Pack, and the Energy Nova Pack. Only the carabiners are included in this recall; other components of the kits are not affected.
Affected carabiners bear one of the following batch numbers: 10 23, 12 23, 02 24, 09 24, 10 24, 12 24, 01 25, 02 25, and 06 25. The batch number is located on the side of the bottom of the carabiner. Consumers should check the batch number to determine if their carabiner is included in this recall.
3. Hazard Information
The carabiner’s automatic closing mechanism can break, which may prevent the gate from closing. This failure poses a risk of serious injury or death due to falling. The firm has received 21 reports of the closing mechanism breaking. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Nimbus Lock Carabiners. Consumers must contact C.A.M.P. to initiate the recall process. Consumers will be asked to fill out the recall registration form located at www.camp-usa.com/nimbus-lock-safety-recall-registration-form. After completing the form, consumers must print a prepaid return shipping label and return the recalled product to C.A.M.P.
5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a repair. C.A.M.P. will inspect returned units. If a unit passes inspection, it will be shipped back to the consumer. Any units that do not pass inspection will be replaced free of charge.
