Date of Record: 2026-02-26
1. Recall Summary
TheKiddoSpace, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of its branded children’s Christmas tree toy play sets. The recall was initiated due to the presence of lead in a component of the toy, which violates the federal lead content ban, and due to the product’s failure to comply with mandatory mechanical and electrical safety standards for battery-operated toys. As of the recall publication date, no injuries have been reported in connection with this product.
2. Affected Products
The recall involves TheKiddoSpace-branded children’s Christmas tree toy play sets. The recalled felt play sets consist of a two-sided Christmas tree measuring approximately 40 inches high and 28 inches wide, holiday-themed felt ornaments (including one that reads “Merry Christmas”), and a storage box. The product packaging features the TheKiddoSpace logo and the words “Christmas Tree” printed on the front.
Approximately 300 units of this product were sold. The recalled items were sold exclusively online at TheKiddoSpaceStore.com from November 2023 through February 2025, with a retail price range between $13 and $40. The product was manufactured in China. The importer is SN Commerce LLC, doing business as TheKiddoSpace, of Dover, Delaware.
3. Hazard Information
The recall notice identifies two specific hazards associated with this product:
– Lead Exposure: The zipper pull on the music box compartment of the recalled Christmas tree toys contains levels of lead that exceed the federal lead content ban. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.
– Mechanical and Electrical Noncompliance: The Christmas tree component fails to comply with various mechanical and electrical requirements for battery-operated toys as mandated by federal safety standards.
No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers are instructed to take the following actions immediately:
– Stop using the recalled play sets.
– Take the play sets away from children.
– Contact TheKiddoSpace to arrange for a remedy.
– As part of the remedy process, consumers will be asked to write the word “RECALLED” on the tree component of the play set.
– Submit a photo of the marked product to TheKiddoSpace at the email address info@thekiddospace.com.
– After submitting the photo, consumers should discard the tree and storage box in accordance with their local waste disposal requirements.
5. Official Remedy
The official remedy offered by TheKiddoSpace is a free replacement toy. The replacement toy will be of at least equal value to the purchase price of the recalled play set. The replacement will be shipped to the consumer free of charge.
