GT Bicycles LLC, of Aliso Viejo, California, is recalling certain GT LaBomba bicycles and framesets. The recall was initiated because the bicycle headtube/downtube weld can become damaged and separate from the bicycle frame, posing fall and injury hazards. Approximately 3,040 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 324 units were sold in Canada. The bicycles were sold at bicycle stores nationwide from October 2018 through September 2023, with prices ranging from $400 to $1,450. The products were manufactured in Taiwan.
