1. Recall Summary
On March 6, 2025, Taylor Water Technologies LLC, of Sparks, Maryland, initiated a recall of Phosphate Reagent

1 bottles. The recall includes bottles sold as part of Taylor Phosphate Test Kits (model K-1106) and bottles sold separately as replacement reagent. The recall was issued due to a violation of the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA). The bottles contain sulfuric acid and are not in child-resistant packaging. The recall number is 25173.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Phosphate Reagent

1 bottles, labeled with part number R-0980 and size “22 mL (.75 oz).” These bottles are sold within Taylor Phosphate Test Kits (brand name “Taylor,” kit name “Phosphate Test,” part number K-1106) and are also sold separately as replacement reagent bottles. The bottles are labeled with the brand name “Taylor,” product name “Phosphate Reagent #1,” and part number “R-0980.” Phosphate Reagent #1 has a shelf-life of 24 months. Only unexpired bottles are included in this recall and eligible for the free replacement. The kits are used to test phosphate levels in water for pools, spas, and aquariums. The products were sold online at www.taylortechnologies.com and other websites, and in pool and aquarium stores nationwide from August 2022 through August 2024. The reagent bottles sold for about $13, and the kits that include the reagent bottles sold for about $56. Approximately 10,000 units are affected.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled reagent bottles contain sulfuric acid. The Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA) requires that products containing hazardous substances, such as sulfuric acid, be packaged in child-resistant containers. The packaging for the recalled bottles is not child resistant. This poses a risk of chemical burns to the skin or eyes and internal corrosive burns if the contents are ingested. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the recalled Phosphate Reagent

1 bottles immediately. They should place the bottles in a safe and secure location away from the reach of children. Consumers must then contact Taylor Water Technologies for information on how to properly dispose of the recalled bottle and to obtain a free replacement bottle. Only unexpired Phosphate Reagent #1 bottles are eligible for the free replacement. Taylor Water Technologies is contacting all known purchasers directly.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free replacement bottle. Consumers who have an unexpired recalled Phosphate Reagent

1 bottle are eligible to receive a free replacement bottle after contacting Taylor Water Technologies for disposal instructions.
