Recall Summary
Yamaha Golf Car Company, of Kennesaw, Georgia, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of certain model year 2021-2025 Drive 2 Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs) Gas/Electric golf car vehicles. The recall was published on October 16, 2025, and last updated on October 17, 2025. The recall number is 26028. The recalled vehicles were sold in a variety of colors. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. The vehicles were manufactured in Japan.

Affected Products
The recall includes model year 2021-2025 Drive 2 Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTVs) Gas/Electric golf car vehicles. The model name/number is located on the left and right side of the vehicle. Serial numbers are in various locations depending on the vehicle model. The following models and serial number ranges are included in this recall:

– Model Year 2021: Prefix J2D, Serial Number Range Min 0000625 to Max 0000880.
– Model Year 2022: Prefix J0D, Serial Number Range Min 0513701 to Max 0514498; Prefix J0E, Serial Number Range Min 0502001 to Max 0502134; Prefix J2D, Serial Number Range Min 0000601 to Max 0000870; Prefix J5C, Serial Number Range Min 0001010 to Max 0001400.

If consumers are unable to locate their serial number, they should contact Yamaha for assistance. Approximately 19,300 units are affected. The vehicles were sold at Yamaha dealers nationwide from June 2020 through July 2025 for between $8,300 and $12,900.

Hazard Information
The recalled golf car vehicles lack stop lights, posing a risk of serious injury or death, due to a crash hazard. No injuries have been reported.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled golf car vehicles and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule the free installation of two stoplights. For consumers who cannot take their recalled golf car to an authorized dealer, Yamaha will provide transportation or will install the stoplights at the location of the golf cart.

The official remedy is a repair. Consumers will receive the free installation of two stoplights.
