1. Recall Summary
Blue Wave Products Inc., of Batavia, Illinois, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling all Blue Wave brand above-ground pools that are 48 inches and taller. The recall involves approximately 13,400 units sold in the United States. The recall was initiated because the compression strap (also referred to as a reinforcing belt) that wraps around the outside of the vertical support poles may create a foothold, allowing a child to access the pool and drown. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes all Blue Wave brand above-ground pools with a height of 48 inches or taller. Model information is printed on the original box and on the instruction manual. The Blue Wave logo is printed on the liner on the outside of the pool. The specific models subject to this recall are:

The pools were sold at The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Dunham’s Sports retail stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and Wayfair.com from January 2021 through July 2025. The retail price ranged from $600 to $2,000, depending on the size and model of the pool and accessories purchased. The pools were manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled above-ground pools contain a compression strap (also referred to as a reinforcing belt) that wraps around the pool on the outside of the vertical support poles. This strap may create a foothold, allowing a child to access the pool and drown. The recall notice states that children can still gain access to the pools using these footholds even if the ladder is removed. No injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately contact Blue Wave to request a free repair kit. In the interim, consumers should ensure that children cannot access the pool unattended or, alternatively, drain the pool until the repair can be installed. The CPSC also directs consumers to its website, www.PoolSafely.gov, for free, downloadable educational materials on pool safety, including information on barriers, covers, alarms, and other safety information.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair kit. Consumers are instructed to contact Blue Wave to request this kit. The remedy option listed in the recall notice is a refund, though the primary instruction provided
