Recall Information Record: Mr Maria Miffy First Lights

1. Recall Summary
On September 22, 2022, Mr. Maria (conducted by Cool Decor Company, of Miami, Florida, as Cool Decor is no longer in business) announced a recall of Miffy First Lights. The recall was initiated due to a burn hazard. The recall notice was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 22226. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

2. Affected Products
The recall involves Miffy First Lights with a blue color label on the bottom. The lights are approximately 12 inches tall, made from silicone, and have a white exterior in the shape of a rabbit. The LED light features a step dimmer and a USB charger. The model number, printed as “Mr LED 11” or “Mr. LED 11A,” is located on the blue-colored label on the bottom of the light. Only models with a blue-colored label on the bottom of the unit are included in this recall.

The recalled lights were produced in 2017 and 2018. The production year is embossed in a circle on the bottom right foot of the light. A “7” on the right side of the arrow represents 2017, and an “8” on the right side of the arrow represents 2018.

Approximately 1,400 units were sold in the United States. The lights were sold at baby boutiques, gift shops, and children’s stores nationwide, including MoMA (New York City), Clic Gallery (New York City), Albee Baby (New York City), Aldea Home (San Francisco), Modern Art Museum (Fort Worth, Texas), and Tabletop (Potomac, Maryland). They were sold from July 2018 through September 2019 for about $100. The product was manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled lights can overheat during use, posing a burn hazard. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents had been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Miffy First Lights. Consumers must visit https://www.mrmaria.com/bluemodule for instructions on how to determine which LED module is being recalled.

– For consumers who purchased the light at a local store: Bring the light to the store to have the module replaced free of charge.
– For consumers who purchased the light online (or if the retailer is no longer in business): Take one photo of the blue label on the bottom of the light and one photo of the date embossed underneath the right foot of the light. Email both photos together with the consumer’s shipping address and phone number to bluemodule@mrmaria.com to receive an upgraded LED module free of charge.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a repair. Consumers will receive a free replacement of the LED module. The specific method for obtaining the repair depends on the purchase location, as described in the Consumer Action Required section.
