1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD NewCosplay branded children’s button-up long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments. The sleepwear is made of 100% polyester and was sold in sizes 4T through 10 years. The garments feature “Charmander” and “Pikachu” characters. The side seam label contains the fiber content and washing instructions. The sewn-in neck label displays the garment’s size and the word “NEWCOSPLAY.” The products were sold exclusively at Amazon.com from November 2021 through April 2022 for approximately $30. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on April 20, 2023. Approximately 868 units are affected. The importer is Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD, of China. The manufacturer is Suzhou Rongtai Home Textile Co. Ltd., of China.

2. Affected Products
The affected products are NewCosplay branded children’s button-up long-sleeved, one-piece sleepwear garments. The sleepwear is made of 100% polyester. Sizes affected include 4T through 10 years. The sleepwear is available in two character designs: “Charmander” and “Pikachu.” Identification features include a side seam label with fiber content and washing instructions, and a sewn-in neck label displaying the garment’s size and “NEWCOSPLAY.” The products were sold exclusively online at www.amazon.com. The date range of sale was November 2021 through April 2022. The retail price was approximately $30. No specific model numbers or UPCs are specified in the recall notice.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled children’s sleepwear fails to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. This violation poses a risk of burn injuries to children. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported in connection with this product.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately take the recalled sleepwear garments away from children and stop using them. Consumers must destroy the garments by cutting them in half. After destroying the garment, consumers should email a photo of the destroyed garment to Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD at lingwushihao50@163.com. Upon receipt of the photo, consumers will be issued a full refund of the purchase price. Taizhou Jiawang Trading Co. LTD and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a full refund of the purchase price. To receive the refund, consumers must destroy the recalled sleepwear by cutting the garment in half and emailing a photograph of the destroyed garment to the importer at lingwushihao50@163.com.
