1. Recall Summary
On May 18, 2023, Kell Electronic USA Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of approximately 25,000 Personal Chiller Mini Fridge Gamer Beverage Refrigerators with LED Lights. The recall was initiated due to a reported defect involving the product’s power cord. The firm has received six reports of the power cord overheating. No injuries have been reported.

The recall involves Personal Chiller Mini Fridge Gamer Beverage Refrigerators with LED Lights. The units have a matte black finish exterior, a lighted LED door, and a remote control with mood lighting effects. The LED lights were sold in red and blue colors. The model number K1000BK is located on the back of the refrigerator. The refrigerators measure 15.7 inches tall, 11.7 inches deep, and 8.5 inches wide.
The products were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com, as well as through secondhand stores and websites, from September 2022 through January 2023 for approximately $60. The refrigerators were manufactured in China and imported by Kell Electronic USA Inc., of Houston, Texas.
3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the refrigerator’s power cord can overheat, posing a burn hazard. The firm has received six reports of the power cord overheating. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled refrigerator. The firm instructs consumers to unplug the unit. After unplugging, consumers are asked to use scissors to cut the cord, take a photo of the cut cord, and then throw the cord away.
