On May 25, 2023, Juratoys US Corp., of Bloomingdale, Illinois, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of approximately 5,080 Janod Sweet Cocoon Activity Tables in the United States. An additional 1,030 units were sold in Canada. The recall was initiated due to a choking hazard involving a silver metal bell that can detach from its metal arch on the activity table. The recall involves two models of Janod Sweet Cocoon Activity Tables intended for children 12 months and older. The tables are described as rounded triangle wooden tables measuring approximately 21 inches wide and 18 inches high, and a round table measuring about 22 inches in diameter. Both tables are multicolored with gray, pink, blue, and white. The tabletop activities include a grooved track for vehicle play, a bell arch, a bead and wire maze, a shape sorter, gear activity, and stacking activity. The model numbers affected are J04402 and J04411. The model number can be found on a label on the underside of the activity table.

The recalled tables were sold at Nordstrom and Crate and Barrel stores nationwide, online at Amazon.com, Maisonnette.com, Nordstrom.com, and CrateandBarrel.com, and at other specialty toy, gift, and book stores nationwide and in catalogs from February 2020 through December 2022. The retail price was between $65 and $83. The manufacturer is Juratoys US Corp., and the product was manufactured in China.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard identified in the recall notice is that the activity table contains a silver metal bell which can detach from its metal arch. This detachment poses a choking hazard to young children. The recall notice states that no injuries have been reported as of the date of the recall.
