Recall Summary
This recall involves Polaris Model Year 2023 PATRIOT 9R MATRYX PRO RMK and PATRIOT 9R MATRYX RMK KHAOS snowmobiles. The recall was published on November 30, 2023, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 24720. The firm, Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minnesota, initiated the recall due to a reported injury hazard. The recall is also listed with Transport Canada (Recall Number 2023345). Approximately 2,200 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 1,000 units were sold in Canada.

Affected Products
The recalled products are Model Year 2023 PATRIOT 9R MATRYX PRO RMK and PATRIOT 9R MATRYX RMK KHAOS snowmobiles. The vehicles were sold in black and custom color combinations. “POLARIS” is stamped on the front side paneling of the vehicles. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and model number are located on the right side of the vehicle’s frame. The snowmobiles were sold at authorized Polaris dealers nationwide from January 2022 through April 2023 for between $18,500 and $19,900. The manufacturer is Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minnesota, and the products were manufactured in the United States.

Hazard Information
The primary (drive) clutch can fail and can cause the clutch or clutch components to come loose, posing an injury hazard to consumers. According to the recall notice, the firm has received 91 reports of clutch failure, including nine reports where the clutch components separated from the unit. No injuries have been reported.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles. Consumers should contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. Polaris is notifying all dealers and registered owners directly. Consumers can check if their vehicle identification number (VIN) is included in any recalls by visiting the Polaris recall website.

Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair. The repair includes replacing the primary (drive) clutch, installing a clutch guard kit, and receiving an owner’s manual addendum. The remedy is classified as a repair.
