Recall Information Record: Polaris Industries RZR 200 Youth ROVs

1. Recall Summary
On December 14, 2023, Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minnesota, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of certain Model Year 2021-2024 RZR 200 youth recreational off-road vehicles (ROVs). The recall was initiated due to a defect in the steering system. The recall number is 24056. The vehicles were manufactured in China.

2. Affected Products
This recall involves specific vehicle identification numbers (VINs) of Model Year 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Polaris RZR 200 youth vehicles. The vehicles were sold in blue, gray, and white colors. “POLARIS” is stamped on the front grille, and “POLARIS” and “RZR” are printed on the sides of the vehicles. The model name is also printed on the side of the chassis. The VIN is stamped on a plate riveted to the upper frame rail, visible from the right rear wheel well.

Approximately 19,000 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 950 units were sold in Canada. The vehicles were sold by Polaris dealers nationwide from May 2021 through September 2023 for a retail price between $6,300 and $7,500.

3. Hazard Information
The steering system on the recalled vehicles can lock up while in use. This poses a crash hazard and a risk of serious injury to children. Polaris has received 32 reports of the steering system locking. Among these reports, there were two reports of crashes and two reports of rollover/tip over incidents. These incidents resulted in two injuries involving abrasions.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles. Polaris has notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and is contacting registered owners directly. Consumers should contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a free repair. An authorized Polaris dealer will replace the steering rack assembly on the recalled vehicle at no cost to the consumer.
