On June 6, 2024, SA Consumer Products Inc., of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, initiated a recall of approximately 133,370 biometric gun safes. The recall involves two models: the Sanctuary Quick Access Biometric Home Safe and the Sports Afield Home Defense 4-Gun Biometric Safe. The safes were manufactured in China and sold in the United States from July 2020 through November 2023. The recall was issued due to a defect in the biometric locking mechanism.
