1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Gimars Playpens imported by Shenzhen Jingdu Technology Co. Ltd., of China. The recall was initiated due to the products violating federal safety regulations for play yards. The playpens were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from May 2023 through January 2024. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries have been reported. The recall was published on October 10, 2024.
2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Gimars Playpens with model numbers GWL-01, GWL-02, GWL-03, GWL-04, GWL-05, and GWL-06. The playpens are labeled with the product name “Gimars Playpen with mat” on a label attached to the top rail. The name “Gimars” is also printed in white on one side of the top rail. The playpens are available in dark gray, black, and light gray fabric with white mesh sides. The mattress is reversible and features printed road and animal designs. The playpens come with a basketball hoop that attaches to the top rail and multicolored balls. Approximately 6,200 units were sold in the United States. The products were manufactured in China.
3. Hazard Information
The recalled playpens violate the federal safety regulations for play yards. The included basketball hoop accessory can be a head entrapment hazard. Additionally, children can become entrapped beneath the mattress, posing a suffocation hazard. No injuries have been reported in connection with these hazards.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled playpens and keep children away from them. Consumers are instructed to disassemble the playpen and cut the fabric floor, mattress pad, and basketball hoop accessory each into two pieces. After cutting the items, consumers must upload photos of the cut product using the online submission form or email the photos to Gimars-Aftersales@outlook.com to obtain a full refund. Shenzhen Jingdu Technology and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers must follow the destruction and documentation instructions provided in the recall notice. The refund is issued after the consumer submits photographic proof that the playpen, mattress pad, and basketball hoop have been cut into two pieces each.
