Trane U.S. Inc., of Davidson, North Carolina, is recalling approximately 4,790 units of Trane and American Standard brand Gas/Electric Packaged Units. The recall was initiated because the fuel gas valve in the units can open unexpectedly, allowing a gas leak and posing a fire hazard. The firm has received one report of gas leaking from a recalled unit. No injuries have been reported. The units were manufactured in Mexico.

This recall involves five specific models of Gas/Electric Packaged Units sold under the Trane and American Standard brand names. The model and serial number ranges are located on the outside of the back of the unit. The brand name (Trane or American Standard) is printed on the front of the units.

The units were sold by HVAC distributors and dealers nationwide from January 2024 through March 2025 for a retail price between $8,250 and $12,900.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with these units is that the fuel gas valve can open unexpectedly. This condition can allow a gas leak, which poses a fire hazard. The firm has received one report of gas leaking from a recalled two-stage gas furnace/air conditioner. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.
