The North Face, a division of VF Outdoor LLC, of Denver, Colorado, has initiated a voluntary recall of its Women’s Shellista V Mid Waterproof Boots. The recall was published on April 17, 2025, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) under Recall Number 25226. The recall is due to a fall hazard associated with the boot’s hook-and-lace design. Approximately 15,200 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 5,900 units were sold in Canada.

2. Affected Products
The recall involves The North Face Women’s Shellista V Mid Waterproof Boots in sizes 5 through 11. The boots feature traditional lace-up closures and have The North Face logo embossed on the side and imprinted on the insole. The recalled boots were sold in four colorways, each with a specific style number located on the label on the tongue of the boot:
– White (style number NF0A8ADB3IE)
– Gray (style number NF0A8ADB5IF)
– Tan (style number NF0A8ADBHFQ)
– Black (style number NF0A8ADBKT0)

The boots were manufactured in Vietnam. They were sold at The North Face stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nordstrom, REI, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at thenorthface.com and other websites, from September 2024 through January 2025 for approximately $165.

3. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with this product is that the hook of one boot can catch on the lace of the other boot. This entanglement poses a fall hazard to the consumer. The firm has received 28 reports of the top hook catching on the lace of the other boot, including 15 reports of minor injuries in the United States.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled boots. After stopping use, consumers must contact The North Face for instructions on how to return the boots. Upon contacting the firm, consumers will receive a shipping label to return the boots free of charge.

The official remedy for this recall is a full refund. Consumers will receive a refund in the original form of payment, a gift card, or via check if the purchase was made with cash.
