Recall Summary
On May 15, 2025, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published Recall Number 25281. The recall involves individual PlayTab Rollers Tile toys sold for use with the PlayTab Modular Activity Board. The rollers tile was sold individually or as a set of three with the PlayTab Sensory Set 3. The tile has blue, red, and green rubberized and textured rollers designed for children to touch and spin. The recall was initiated by Fat Brain Toy Co. LLC, of Elkhorn, Nebraska. The product was manufactured in China. No injuries have been reported.
Affected Products
The recalled product is the PlayTab Rollers Tile toy. The tile is sold individually and also as part of the PlayTab Sensory Set 3 (which includes three rollers tiles). The product was sold at specialty toy, book, and educational stores nationwide and online at fatbraintoys.com from July 2024 through November 2024. The individual rollers tiles sold for about $6. The Sensory Set 3 sold for about $18. Approximately 5,100 units were sold in the United States, and about 380 units were sold in Canada. Specific model numbers, UPCs, or batch codes are not specified in the recall notice.
Hazard Information
The recalled rollers tile toy violates the mandatory federal regulation for toy magnets because it contains a magnet that can become loose, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, infection, blood poisoning, and death. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.
Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the rollers tile toys immediately. Consumers should contact the firm for instructions on how to dispose of the product. Fat Brain Toy Co. is contacting all known purchasers directly.
Official Remedy
Consumers who stop using the product and follow the firm’s disposal instructions will receive a $10 credit for use at fatbraintoys.com, or a replacement PlayTab tile. The remedy option listed in the recall notice is a refund (in the form of a store credit) or a replacement product.
