1. Recall Summary
This recall involves Fisher & Paykel 30, 36, and 48-inch stainless steel, free-standing or self-contained gas ranges (RGV3 models). The gas ranges are available in natural gas or liquified petroleum gas configurations. The recall was initiated by the manufacturer, Fisher & Paykel Appliances (Thailand) Co., Ltd., of Thailand. 2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Fisher & Paykel gas ranges with model numbers RGV3-305-N, RGV3-305-L, RGV3-366-N, RGV3-366-L, RGV3-304-N, RGV3-304-L, RGV3-486GD-N, RGV3-486GD-L, RGV3-488N, RGV3-488L, RGV3-485GD-N, and RGV3-485GD-L. The recalled models have serial numbers starting with EEV, ERV, EAV, EYV, EUV, ELV, or RFV. The model and serial numbers are printed on the rating plate located on either the back of the product or behind the front kick strip. The date codes for the recalled units range from May 2025 to January 2026, with specific variations per model (e.g., RGV3-488L date codes run from May 2025 to October 2025; RGV3-485GD-N date codes run from May 2025 to August 2025; RGV3-485GD-L date codes run from May 2025 to December 2025). The units were sold at Factory Builder Stores, Albert Lee Inc, and other appliance retail stores nationwide from June 2025 through March 2026 for between $6,200 and $14,000. Approximately 433 units were sold in the United States, and about 70 units were sold in Canada.
3. Hazard Information
The ovens in the ranges can experience a delayed ignition, causing gas to accumulate and the oven door to open from combustion. This poses a burn hazard to users. The firm has received 18 reports of gas ranges with delayed ignition and one report of a minor burn injury.
4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the ovens in the recalled gas ranges immediately. Consumers can continue to use the cooktop burners on the range. Consumers should contact Fisher & Paykel for a free inspection and repair.
5. Official Remedy
Fisher & Paykel will provide a professional in-home repair of the oven’s ignitor at no cost to the consumer.
