1. Recall Summary
This recall involves nvyue Magic Pocket Staffs, imported by Xingwenfeng of China. The products were sold online at Amazon.com from September 2020 through March 2026. The recall was initiated due to projectile and laceration hazards associated with the protective pin mechanism on the staffs.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are nvyue Magic Pocket Staffs available in gold, silver, or black colors. The staffs expand to lengths of 110 cm or 150 cm. They arrive in a compressed, tightly wound cylinder. Approximately 25,000 units are affected. No specific model numbers or UPCs are listed in the recall notice. The products were sold for between $8 and $26.

3. Hazard Information
The protective pin mechanism on the Magic Pocket Staffs can fail to prevent unintentional expansion. In many cases, the protective pin is found not fully engaged, increasing the risk of sudden deployment. Even when the pin is engaged, the expansion occurs too rapidly for consumers to react, leaving virtually no opportunity for protection. This poses serious projectile and laceration hazards.

CPSC has received 163 reports of incidents involving injuries to the eyes, face, and hands. Reported injuries include corneal lacerations, temporary vision loss, and injuries requiring stitches. Many of these incidents involved children as young as nine years old.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the Magic Pocket Staff immediately. Consumers are instructed to write their initials and the current date with a permanent marker on the Magic Pocket Staff. After marking the product, consumers must send a photo of the marked Magic Pocket Staff to nvyue_recall@163.com. Consumers will then be instructed to safely expand the Magic Pocket Staff before disposal. After expanding the staff, consumers should dispose of the recalled product. Consumers are explicitly instructed: Do not sell or give away these hazardous products.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a full refund. Consumers must contact Xingwenfeng to initiate the refund process. The refund is provided after the consumer has marked the product with initials and date, sent a photo to the recall email, and followed the disposal instructions.
