3. Hazard Information
The recalled products contain either ethylene glycol or low-viscosity petroleum distillates. Under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA), these substances must be packaged in child-resistant containers. The packaging for these Super Lube products is not child resistant. This poses a risk of poisoning if the contents are swallowed by young children. Additionally, petroleum distillates can enter the lungs, causing chemical pneumonia and/or pulmonary damage, which can be fatal. No injuries have been reported as of the recall date.
