Recall Summary
On November 21, 2024, Todson Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of Nerf Barrage Youth bike helmets. The recall was issued because the helmets do not comply with the retention system requirements of the mandatory federal safety regulations for bicycle helmets. The recall notice was published on the CPSC website under Recall Number 25051. The manufacturer of the helmets is Jingzhou Taike Sport Equipment Co. Ltd, of China. The importer is Todson Inc., of Foxboro, Massachusetts. The helmets were sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from January 2022 through May 2024. The approximate number of units affected is 6,500. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

Affected Products
The recalled product is the Nerf Barrage Youth bike helmet. The helmet has a blue and orange exterior, black straps, an orange buckle, and is size medium (M). The word “NERF” is printed in white lettering on the sides of the helmet. Model number 6011 is printed on a label on the inside of the helmet. The lot number (LOT

) and reference number (REF#) are also found on the same label on the inside of the helmet. Only helmets with the following specific lot and reference numbers are included in this recall:

BC01BJ01-111521 and REF# 4970-BL

Helmets with other lot numbers or reference numbers are not part of this recall. The product was sold for approximately $30.

Hazard Information
The recalled helmets do not comply with the retention system requirements of the mandatory federal safety regulations for bicycle helmets. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect the wearer in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury. No incidents or injuries have been reported to the firm or to CPSC as of the date of the recall notice.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should stop using the recalled Nerf Barrage helmets immediately. To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the helmet by cutting off the straps. After destroying the helmet, consumers should take a photo of the destroyed helmet and send the photo to the recalling firm by email at NerfHelmetRecall@Todson.com. After submitting proof of destruction, consumers should dispose of the recalled helmet. Todson Inc. is contacting all known purchasers directly.
