Recall Summary
On April 3, 2025, AliExpress, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of XZT Huizhou compact mini hair dryers. The recall was initiated due to the products lacking an immersion protection device, which violates federal safety regulations. The hair dryers were sold exclusively on AliExpress.com from May 2023 through November 2024. Approximately 50 units are affected. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

Affected Products
The recall involves XZT Huizhou’s compact mini hair dryers. These are foldable dryers sold in four colors: blue, green, pink, and white. The dryers feature a white switch with two gear settings and a thermostatic function. On the side of the hair dryer, the text “Fashion Hair Dryer” and an image of two animal faces appear next to a white button with “OK” embossed on it. The products were manufactured in China. The distributor is Huizhou Bailitong Electronics Co. Ltd., doing business as XZT Huizhou, of China. The importer is AliExpress, of San Mateo, California. The retailer is AliExpress.com. The products were sold for between $1 and $7. Model numbers and UPCs are not specified in the recall notice.

Hazard Information
The recalled hair dryers lack an immersion protection device. According to the recall notice, if the hair dryers fall into water while plugged in, they can cause death or serious injury due to electrocution or shock. The products are in violation of federal regulations and present a substantial product hazard. No injuries have been reported as of the recall date.

Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled hair dryer. Consumers are instructed to contact AliExpress to receive a full refund. As part of the remedy process, consumers will be asked to destroy the recalled hair dryer by cutting the cord and disposing of it. After destroying the product, consumers must send a photo of the destroyed hair dryer to the email address us_product_recall@aliexpress.com, or by replying to the recall email sent by AliExpress.
