1. Recall Summary
Madewell Inc., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a recall for two styles of women’s sweaters. The recall was published on July 16, 2026. The sweaters were sold under the Madewell brand name. The recall is being conducted because the products violate the mandatory federal standard for clothing textiles.
2. Affected Products
The recall involves two styles of Madewell-branded women’s sweaters: the Double V-Neck Pullover and the V-Neck Cardigan. The sweaters were sold with or without buttons. Available colors include light blue and cream. Sizes range from XS through L. All recalled sweaters have long sleeves and a V-neck design. The “Madewell” brand name and the size are printed on the neck label. The sewn-in side seam label contains either “Style
NT611” or “Style #NT612” along with the code “HO24.” Approximately 5,900 units are affected by this recall. The sweaters were manufactured in China. The sweaters were sold at Madewell and T.J. Maxx stores nationwide and online at Madewell.com from December 2024 through October 2025. The retail price was between $138 and $148.
3. Hazard Information
The recalled sweaters violate the mandatory standard for clothing textiles. According to the recall notice, this violation poses a risk of serious burn injuries or death. The firm has received one report of a sweater catching on fire. No injuries have been reported in connection with this incident.
