1. Recall Summary
Serta, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of Serta Perfect Sleeper-branded mattresses. The recall was initiated due to the mattresses failing to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries had been reported. The recall involves approximately 800 units.

2. Affected Products
The recall includes Serta Perfect Sleeper-branded mattresses. These are white single-sided mattresses with navy blue side panels. The mattresses were sold in twin, twin XL, full, queen, king, and California king sizes. The mattresses were manufactured from July 15, 2021, through August 6, 2021. The date of manufacture (in DD/MM/YY format), the model number, and “Prototype ID: L1” can be found on a white tag sewn into the head of the mattress. The following model numbers are included in this recall:

The mattresses were sold at Aaron’s Furniture, Ashley Furniture, Macy’s, and Sam’s Club stores nationwide and online at serta.com from July 2021 through September 2021. The retail price was between $500 and $1,000. The manufacturer is SSB Manufacturing Company, of Doraville, Ga., and Serta Restokraft Mattress Co., dba Serta, of Romulus, Mich. The mattresses were manufactured in the United States.

3. Hazard Information
The recalled mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses. This failure poses a fire hazard. As of the date of the recall notice, no injuries or incidents had been reported in connection with this hazard.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses. Consumers must contact Serta to verify whether their mattress is included in the recall. Serta is contacting all purchasers directly.

5. Official Remedy
If a consumer’s mattress is confirmed to be part of the recall, the consumer will receive a free replacement mattress. This remedy includes free delivery of the new mattress and free disposal of the recalled mattress.
