1. Recall Summary
Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minnesota, initiated a recall of certain Model Year 2022 snowmobiles. The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on February 17, 2022. The recall involves specific Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) of MATRYX RMK, INDY, SWITCHBACK, VOYAGEUR, and NORDIC PRO snowmobiles. The recalled snowmobiles were sold in the following color combinations: black/titanium, red/black, blue/white/red, black/gray/blue, gray/lime, red/black/white, navy/silver/white, white/black/plum, tan/black/orange, gray/black/lime, gray/black/red, orange, black, and jade. Polaris and the model name are printed on the chassis on both sides of the vehicles. The model year and VIN are stamped on the right side of the tunnel. Consumers can enter their VIN at www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road-recalls/ to check if their vehicle is included in any recalls.

2. Affected Products
The recalled products are Model Year 2022 MATRYX RMK, INDY, SWITCHBACK, VOYAGEUR, and NORDIC PRO snowmobiles. Approximately 7,400 units were sold in the United States, and an additional 3,647 units were sold in Canada. The snowmobiles were sold by Polaris dealers nationwide from December 2019 through January 2022, with prices ranging from $13,300 to $19,700. The manufacturer is Polaris Industries Inc., located in Medina, Minnesota. The vehicles were manufactured in the United States.

3. Hazard Information
The recall addresses two distinct hazards related to the throttle system. First, the throttle release switch (TRS) can fail to disengage when the throttle lever is released. If a stuck throttle condition occurs when the TRS fails to disengage, it can lead to loss of vehicle control, posing a crash hazard. Second, on certain Model Year 2022 MATRYX RMK snowmobiles specifically, the throttle cable can be kinked during installation. This kinking can lead to damage of the throttle cable during operation and impairment of the throttle function, posing a crash hazard. As of the recall date, Polaris has received four reports of kinked throttle cables and three reports of a stuck throttle. No injuries have been reported.

4. Consumer Action Required
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles. Consumers should contact a Polaris dealer to schedule a free inspection and, if needed, an adjustment of the throttle control assembly and/or a repair to replace the throttle cable (MATRYX RMK only). Polaris has notified consumers to stop riding the snowmobiles. Polaris is contacting all registered owners directly to provide more details about the repair. Consumers can also enter their VIN at www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road-recalls/ to see if their vehicle is included in any recalls.

5. Official Remedy
The official remedy is a repair. The remedy consists of a free inspection and, if necessary, an adjustment of the throttle control assembly and/or a repair to replace the throttle cable (for MATRYX RMK models only). Consumers must contact a Polaris dealer to schedule this service.
