On September 29, 2022, Hyper Products Inc., of Fremont, California, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced a recall of HyperJuice 130W USB-C Battery Packs and Kits. The recall was initiated due to a fire hazard. The recall number is 22237. The recall includes units sold in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Approximately 13,700 units were sold in the United States, about 151 units were sold in Canada, and about 7 units were sold in Mexico.

The recall involves HyperJuice 130W USB-C Battery Packs and Kits. The battery packs were sold in two colors: gray and silver. Both color variants share the same model number: HJ307. The battery packs measure approximately 3 inches wide and 7 inches long. The model number is printed on a label located at the bottom of the battery pack. Hazard Information
The hazard associated with this product is that the battery pack can overheat while charging, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Hyper Products has received two reports of the battery pack overheating, resulting in smoke, melting, and property damage. No injuries have been reported in connection with this hazard.
